Grooms Office Environments Offsite School
As the summer of 2020 came to a close and the pandemic continued to change the way students attended school, Jonathan and Audrey Garard recognized a growing need within the Springfield community for a dedicated virtual learning environment. Partnering with Grooms Office Environments, they transformed a space into a temporary school site designed to support Springfield Public Schools students on their remote learning days. The goal was to create an environment that provided the structure of a classroom while offering the flexibility and comfort students needed to stay engaged and productive.
Using Grooms' wide range of furniture and design resources, the space was equipped with traditional workstations for focused learning alongside comfortable lounge seating that encouraged collaboration and social interaction. A qualified facilitator helped guide students throughout the day, creating a supportive and organized atmosphere. The result was a unique learning hub where students could attend virtual classes, connect with their peers, and enjoy a space that quickly became their own during an unprecedented time in education.
